Why South Korea is not sleeping

South Korea is a country with a high prevalence of sleep problems, The average South Korean youth gets seven hours and 18 minutes of sleep per night.

In just a few decades South Korea has become one of the world's most technologically advanced nations from being one of the poorest countries.

The psychological demand or stress is very high in Korea, and so is the workload. Also, there is an abrupt or frequent shift in working hours. 

South Korea also has the highest suicide rate among developed nations, the highest consumption of hard liquor, and a huge number of people on antidepressants.

Almost 100,000 Koreans are taking sleeping pills. That's according to  the Health Insurance Review and Assessment Service(HIRA), assesses claims filed with the Korean national health insurance.

All these things making a new industry in Korea, the sleep industry - Now dedicated stores and clinics are being opened for resolving sleep disorders in Korea.

‘’Just like other countries, South Korea is facing issues after adopting the blind race of development.’’ said a Buddhist monk.
